“This is Doctor MacCready, logging data for June 18. Today was a bust. Unsurprising, since the subject is restless ––more than usual, I mean. The bindings are holding, the cage won’t break, but no-one can get close as it thrashes around. As usual, since I don’t know who or when will be checking this tape, ‘it’ refers to the test subject referred as MOTHER hereto. With that being said, yeah, a bust. We couldn’t run any experiment on it as it kept thrashing, and lashing around with its mandibles, and appendixes. We can’t allow ourselves another incident like last month’s. A short entry, I know, but we were asked to log everything! Whoop-dee-doo.”
